When I came across this photo of Hitler, I immediately thought of a very similar and famous picture of Nelson Mandela gazing through the bars in his cell. What amazes me is how Hitler who spent a fraction of the time Nelson Mandela spent in prison, yet emerged with more hate, and the man who spent more time emerged with non.
In his book, Long Walk to Freedom, Nelson Mandela said that he would often look out the window to look at the horizon to think. He said the horizon always gave him hope. Seeing flowers bloom in spring also gave him hope. He knew he wouldn’t be there forever.
Ok, this is a bit much though but I’ll say it anyway. Note how Hitler’s picture is the dark and the Neslon Mandela is in light.
